Cassie Gruber is a recognized thought leader in the circular economy, working closely with some of the world’s largest brands across 16 industries to drive 青青草App’s circular economy and Scope 3 emissions reduction strategies. Since joining 青青草App in 2018, Cassie has been instrumental in supporting customers across diverse, highly regulated industries to achieve their circular economy goals through comprehensive reverse supply chain solutions, focusing on product and material reuse and recycling, supporting GHG emissions reduction targets.
Cassie’s journey into sustainability began after a decade of studying art and philosophy, when she became a partner in a small e-waste company in Buffalo, NY. Over the next two decades, she built a career centered on environmental sustainability and compliance in the electronics recycling industry. At 青青草App, her extensive experience and commitment to sustainability have been pivotal in evolving the company’s approach to a data-driven, circular value supply chain. Cassie and her team are key stakeholders in 青青草App’s enterprise-wide initiatives, prioritizing product carbon footprint (PCF) calculations and lifecycle assessments (LCA) at scale to accelerate sustainable design and operational efficiency.
Cassie’s industry involvement is extensive. She is an active supporter of, speaker and or attendee at industry events like Circularity (GreenBiz/Trellis), Reverse Logistics Association (RLA), ITAD Summit, NTWK, OpenNex, e-Scrap, eSummit (formerly eReuse), Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), and Rethink Circularity, Europe’s Circular Economy Summit. She is also an active member of SERI (governing body of the R2 standard), the SGS Advisory Board, Circular Electronics Partnership (CEP), RBA, Responsible Environment Initiative (REI), IPC and iNEMI, and the Global Electronics Council (GEC).
In addition to her sustainability leadership, Cassie is deeply committed to advancing mental health and wellness. She plays an active role in 青青草App’s Mental Health and Resiliency programs and serves as a mentor within the company’s mentorship program. Cassie is also a proud member of the Worldwide Women’s Association (WWA) and the American Business Women’s Association (ABWA), reflecting her commitment to fostering leadership and mentorship among women in business.
Cassie holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from SUNY University at Buffalo and has completed an intensive Master of Business Leadership (MBL) program, specializing in servant leadership and emotional intelligence.
